Frequently asked questions

How do I book a class?

To book a class, head to the "Shop" section of the website, and browse the catalogue. Once you have located your class you can purchase it via our e-commerce system. If the title of the class you've purchased says "DEPOSIT", then you will have to pay the balance before the class.

How can I pay the balance for a class I have purchased?

To pay the balance, head to the "Payments" section of the website. You will be able to pay the balance in the way that suits you best. You can purchase a "balance" item in our shop, or make a bank transfer, or even pay in person on arrival on the first day of class.

Is Reiki safe to learn and use?

Yes. Reiki is completely safe to both learn and use. Reiki can be learned and practiced by anyone. The National Occupational Standard says that there are no known contraindications when Reiki is used and practiced on its own.

Is Reiki a religion?

Reiki is not a religion. Nor it is a sect. Reiki is a Japanese spiritual practice that promotes healing, compassion, kindness and wellbeing. It is also used as a recognised and standardised complementary therapy in UK and many other countries of the world.

I am a religious person, do I need to convert to learn Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese personal practice that promotes happiness, wellbeing, and peace. It is not a religion and doesn't require those who decide to learn and practice it to make any change in their lives regarding their belief system, creed, politican views, etc.

How many flavours of Reiki are there?

Many. They are mainly categorised in two broad branches: the Japanese and the Western lineage.

While the Japanese lineage focusses more on personal development and meditation practices, the Western lineage is more oriented towards the aspects related to hands-on treatments for oneself and others.

At the International School of Reiki, we teach both lineages, but the emphasis is put on the Japanese lineage. We believe that the ability to perform highly effective treatments comes directly to the effort the practitioner puts in their daily personal practice.

I had bad experiences in the past and I am not sure if I want to book a class. What do I do?

Please get in touch and we'll try to sort things out for you. Our classes are led in a professional and respectful way. We love to create a safe and welcoming space for our students, so that they can relax, enjoy the class, and open up to the experience, and to the other people. To get in touch please send us an email at info@isureiki.com.

I have learned Reiki already. Should I sign up for your classes too?

Yes! It is always great to be able to learn from different teachers. Every teacher adds their own personal experience to the class, and provides a unique point of view for the student. We offer substantial discounts for Reiki Masters who didn't train with us, so that they will be able to more easily afford to sit on a Shinpiden class with another teacher. In our experience this results in a very enriching experience, so we are glad to be able to help in this regards.

Which browsers do you support?

We try to support as many as possible. Normally the website should be rendering well with at least Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari. To understand more about browsers, please refer to this website.
